What is ICANN?

Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, abbreviated ICANN is a non-profit oriented organization with ultimate primary responsibility for IP protocols, the address space available in the IP protocols, DNS and more. They are also responsible for regulations governing all gTLD's. (generic top level domains such as .com, .net and .cloud and so on)
